UC Berkeley EECS • BAEF Fellow
I'm Alexander, pursuing a Masters in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) at the University of California, Berkeley as a BAEF Fellow. For my undergraduate degree, I studied Engineering Science at KU Leuven. Throughout my life, I've always liked to take on ambitious challenges of any kind, such as representing Belgium on the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), building out a market making system on a decentralised exchange in Rust and constructing a car during the COVID lockdown. This drive for challenge naturally led me to Machine Learning infrastructure & Machine Learning for Robotics, which is why I'm taking courses in Machine Learning, Deep Reinforcement Learning, Computer Systems, Robotics and Optimisation. Current work includes developing a foundational deep learning model for efficiently simulating physics PDEs, and training it on a large A100 GPU cluster.
